Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was a Philadelphia native was born and raised in the city. Her mother Pam was a backing singer at Philadelphia International Records. In the early age of five Her father was appointed as curator for the Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family then moved into the iconic building. In 2005 she was a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts as an alumnus in vocal music. Sullivan played the contralto for the children's choir and later sang in the adult choir. Sullivan had limited exposure to secular music. She recalls when she was eleven when someone asked her to sing solos at church. She wasn't enough yet to be ready. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was allowed to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" in The show Showtime At the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. Stevie Wonder sang her part on the day of the birthday celebrations of her grandson at 13. Sullivan was the first to sign her contract to Jive Records when she was 15. She was signed to Jive Records when she was 15. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. The album did not see release. Sullivan was ultimately dismissed on the labels. The singer had a great working partnership with Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks and tracks, such as "Backstabbers", which was written by Timbaland.
